Resource Committee
Purpose
The purpose of the Resource Committee is to encourage Daughters in the Diocese of Tennessee to renew, restore, and revitalize their individual and chapter commitment to the Order. We do this by providing a variety of ways for Daughters to share ideas and resources, including diocesan forums, paper lists, online links, and small group activities.

The Resource Workshop on July 24th produced these ideas and resources.
Recruiting and Training Incoming Daughters
- Announce meetings in church publications and invite participation.
- Hold a training session once a year and invite participation.
- Arrange for talks between DOK members and potential members.
- Send personal letters to prospective members.
- Have a Tea once a year for potential members.
Meetings—Formats and Times
- Hold meetings between services; monthly at various times and days of the week; or twice a month—one in the evening and one after late service.
- Rotate responsibilities for devotional study and prayers.
- Invite interesting guest speakers.
- Incorporate visuals, handouts and related items with programs.
- Schedule field trips in lieu of meetings once or twice a year.
Personal Spiritual Development
- Dedicate specific time(s) for prayer and bible study.
- Include books on religion and spirituality in your reading.
- Set aside a special place in your home for prayer and meditation.
- Experience a fresh way to read the Bible—individually or in a group.
